Madam – Safety first.
What next Mr Nieuwoudt? Thank the good Lord you were not home when the out-of-control bakkie could have smashed into your bedroom – possibly crippling you, or worse, ending your life!
You see I am a 33-year-old Colt Gallant and my owner cares for me, therefore I am still of good service. We travel around (but not in the early hours of the morning), road rules we adhere to and don’t brag how fast we can go (and we can!)
As for my peer, your father vintage Opel, being totally wrecked after hours of restoration and resting under a tree, it could have been thee!
All I can say is me and my deceased Opel friend, wish you well with your endeavours for reinforced pillars erected. As for Valerie who was visiting the house and heard the collision, what a shock she got!
She witnessed the driver of the bakkie flee – coward and possibly drunk. Let’s add a fleece to his flee and hope the driver of out of control bakkie receives what the totalled vehicle has received.
A case of reckless driving – drunk driving all amount to the same thing. I wish you well. Thank your media for an enlightened story.
