Touched by child’s plight

There are no regrets, sympathy or empathy throughout her response, not even a mere apology

RE: Child wrongfully accused of theft, page 6, Estcourt and Midlands News, April 10, 2015.

I was touched by Mrs Miller’s story or incident. I find it very shocking that the Principal’s response has no weight. She seems not to realise what damage has been done to this little girl.

Instead, she is concerned about the reputation of her school. There are no regrets, sympathy or empathy throughout her response, not even a mere apology.

What was the poor mother supposed to do to clear her child’s name, seeing that the whole of the school and community knows about it?
I think she did what the Principal should have done instead of mocking the mother about the remark that the Estcourt News has become a ‘sounding board’ for her. Yes, the Estcourt News is a voice for our voiceless community and will continue to be.
