A very dirty town indeed

Beer cans, bottles, used toilet paper and woman’s sanitary pads lay on the street

Editor – These streets…

I was going to work on my usual route up Queen Street past the taxi rank and was met with the most disgusting smells and sight.
Right near the robots was a huge pile of rubbish in torn bin bags sitting in a puddle of sewage and waste.

I was absolutely disgusted to the point that I wanted to “hurl”. Beer cans, bottles, used toilet paper and woman’s sanitary pads lay on the street. The water seemed to have been there for quite some time, as a swarm of mosquitoes were flying around.

I am absolutely appalled with what I saw and feel ashamed to even welcome guests or tourists to our town. I have grown up in this little town and remember the days when the streets were always clean, tidy and safe. Nowadays, children can’t even play on the streets due to the fact that it’s dirty and unsafe, not to mention the callous drivers who speed up and down our streets.
