Ward Four committee says ‘down with xenophobia’

Generally, in Estcourt we find foreigners living in peace and harmony side-by-side with the people of different cultures and colours

The Freedom Charter promises the safety of all its citizens, including our so-called foreigners who have come into our country to make a living. They have brought with them certain skills, are enterprising and have made a contribution to the economy. Maybe we can learn from them.

They deserve a place on this part of the earth. Generally, in Estcourt we find foreigners living in peace and harmony side-by-side with the people of different cultures and colours.
Visit Ward Four and you will see this. The Ward Four Councillor Ugan Chetty and his committee congratulate the community of Estcourt for rejecting racism, xenophobia and violence.

They add their voice to those of the government civil society and all law abiding citizens in condemning xenophobic violence, racism and looting. Apartheid is dead, xenophobia must now die.
