Dumping rubbish in suburbs

So to those who are dumping on my doorstep, I am looking out for you and you will be reported.

Madam – I totally agree with Mrs Schoeman re the dumping in town.

For years people have been dumping not only household but also building refuse in the veldt across the road from my home. The latest was a very very dead dog! The green belt almost from the Memel road to the O’ Crusties shopping centre is cut and kept neat every year thus reducing dumping.

But from there to the Pines has never been cut and it is only after the grass is burnt that one realises the increased problem. Other areas are on top of the hill near the radio towers and the area between Scott and Kirkland streets. This area is a major fire risk for the old Rocsi club building and the Masonic Lodge. This was reported to the fire department as it was impossible to contact the relevant people in the municipality. Needless to say, nothing has been done.

Our councillor, Mrs Cronje was contacted and within days inspected the problem in the Sunny Ridge area, and the very next day the paths through the veldt were cut. But the total area should be cut and all the refuse removed. This area could be used for recreation at very little cost.

So to those who are dumping on my doorstep, I am looking out for you and you will be reported.
