Madam – As a concerned citizen, I feel it is important to address the continuing lack of morals and ethics in our modern world.
Often, we do not go even a day without hearing of some scandal or another that involves men and women of influence or power. I realise this may be a bit of an exaggeration, but I feel that it is also accurate.
We hear of priests involved in abuse, businesspeople involved in embezzlement, and politicians accused of corruption. This is concerning on many levels. Our nation, and the world at large, have more promiscuous and we have grown accustomed to many acts of degradation that would not have been tolerated in earlier ages.
Some would say that this is a sign of our society becoming more accepting and less judgmental and others will say that it is because of a fallen world that we are living in.
I believe that both of these reasons play into our current lack of morality but it is more of a testament to the movement of society away from humanity, morality and a code of ethics.
I encourage everyone to examine themselves and how they are living their life.
Kathy
