Making a difference

Bonginkosi I Ntuli, Executive Secretary, Mondlo Community Police Forum, writes:-

PATRIOTISM – I have a responsibility to make a difference in people’s lives; I want to inspire and encourage young people to dream and believe in God, no matter where they come from or what their situation is; know that if they are determined and driven they can be anything they want to be.

Don’t do crime. Once you have committed a crime there is no going back, you cannot erase it, your criminal record will be with you for the rest of your life.

This year, Freedom Day marked 21 years of democracy, and soon we’ll all make our mark again in the local government elections. As equal citizens with equal rights, we’re now allowed to live our lives the way we want as long as we don’t break the law.

Let’s work together to make sure that everyone gets the services that we deserve under our Constitution. After all, that is what freedom is about.

Say no to xenophobia. We are all entitled to equality and dignity irrespective of nationality, ethnicity, race, status, culture or religion. Everyone is a foreigner somewhere.

Many millions of Eskom customers have pre-paid meters. Bypassing these meters is just one illegal and potentially fatal way that criminals try to avoid paying for the electricity they use. Many people have died each year while committing these types of crimes.

Remember: “It is always better to deal with the molehills before they become mountains.”
