Civil servants flouting the law

I am sure that many other residents have also noticed that some civil servants flout the law with no concern for any repercussions

I refer to the pictures in last week’s paper pertaining to civil servants breaking the road rules. I, too, find it offensive when I see civil servants breaking the law, as if it does not apply to them.

And this may be so, because they are probably never held accountable for it. Here are a few incidents I have experienced over the past weeks:

1. Traffic officer makes a U-turn in Harding Street.
2. A traffic officer speaking on a cell phone whilst driving a state vehicle.
3. Police vehicles, on numerous occasions, double parked or parked on a red line or no parking area.
4. Traffic officer typing on cell phone whilst driving.

I am sure that many other residents have also noticed that some civil servants flout the law with no concern for any repercussions.
But will this ever change?
