I WISH to express my concern pertaining this evil behaviour of a minority of black South Africans against our fellow black Africans (foreigners).

As one of the vibrant youth of the Inkatha Freedom Party, we are fully aware of the disgusting and inhuman acts that are being perpetrated by our fellow South African minority on the foreign nationals residing here in our beloved country.

This is done only by those people who have green eyes. Honestly, these people are purely criminals. This is not our culture, nor part of our freedom charter and lifestyle as children of the rainbow nation in Africa.

The government should do something to ameliorate the system of admitting our brothers and sisters from their countries of origin. Because it is now clear to all of us that there is a huge problem within the system or that certain individuals manipulate it. The President of our country boldly announced that more than 4,000 prisoners are Zimbabwean alone. That alone is a huge challenge facing our country. One may be tempted to ask, how much does it cost this country?

I am glad about the immediate intervention by our honourable Provincial leaders, including religious, traditional and political leaders. It indicated that we are being led by mature leaders with God’s anointment – leaders who forget themselves and focus on what is good for the nation.

On the same point in intervention, what an ambush strategy implemented by the national government. It is a big shame and disgraceful act. Planting the defence force in hostels to harass my people (South Africans). It seems as if the government is biased and fighting against people residing in hostels. What coerced the government not to plant the defence force in Hillbrow, because it was clear to all of us that both parties are armed with various dangerous weapons?

I therefore condemn these barbaric acts, and wish to tell my fellow brothers and sisters that not all of us hate them, we love them. They are part of us.

Thank you for considering my opinion and hoping it will find some space in OUR newspaper.
