Dear Madam – I would like to start of by saying thank you.

Thank you, to the people of Newcastle for your complete lack of care for your fellow citizens.

This might not extend to everyone, but since I moved to this town I’ve found it shocking to see how many of you are more worried about backbiting, rather than lending a helping hand. The scary thing is that I find myself being absorbed into your conversations as well.

Maybe I’ve misjudged this city when I moved here, but I expected more unity than this. There is still an underlying sense of racism in the interactions of the people here, and aloofness. People here have a weird attitude. They seem to say, “it doesn’t affect me so I don’t care,” and this is sad.

Especially for a person like me. I have no family here, and I can’t trust my friends, because I’ve seen the way they talk behind each others backs. How do I know who to trust in a town of untrustworthy individuals?

People of Newcastle, look closely at yourselves and acknowledge whether you are a trustworthy or untrustworthy person.
