The heroes in the night

Were it not for their timely intervention then, who knows, the injuries could have led to more serious problems.

Editor – On 25 May members of our staff were returning to Ladysmith from Estcourt.
At about 8pm their vehicle was involved in an accident on the Colenso/Ladysmith road near the Pieters turn off.

The accident was relayed to the respective authorities.

What we found incredible was the response time within which the Sharaj Ambulance Service, the EMRS crew, members of RTI and the Colenso SAPS arrived.

Sir they were on the scene within minutes!
These teams are sometimes criticised for late arrivals, but credit must be recorded in this instant.

They all worked as one unit to alleviate the plight of the 16 people who were injured. 14 suffered minor injuries and 2 spent a night in hospital.

Mention must be made of two gentlemen, Raj and Yash, who displayed exceptional skills and professionalism as they literally took control of the situation.

What was gratifying was the manner in which the other services dovetailed with Raj and Yash. The rescue and treatment thereafter became a joint effort. We hereby express our sincere appreciation to each and every member who assisted in any way whatsoever.

Were it not for their timely intervention then, who knows, the injuries could have led to more serious problems.

It is our humble prayer that God blesses each one of them and may their services to fellow humans be recognised by their superiors.
Yours in appreciation
