As individuals, we all have unique emotional responses to different situations. However, our gender can also influence the way that we deal with our emotions.
This can cause some disagreement and conflict in relationships between men and women. Firstly, it is important to recognise that men have the same emotional range as women, and often feel all the same feelings that women do.
However, the way men approach and express these emotions can be different. The emotional responses of men are influenced by the social expectations placed on them by society and upbringing, as well as physiological factors.
It is safe to say that most men do not respond openly to sudden emotional situations.
It is better to confront men with emotionally complex scenarios gently or through routine. This is important to know in relationships, and can help avoid unnecessary conflict.
For example, men are generally not going to respond well to sudden deep conversations about feelings.
It would be better to give a man something to do while having these conversations, or create a way for these conversations to be part of a planned or expected routine.
