364 days of men’s day and one-day for women?

Women have never-ending demands on their time.

Women’s month is upon us and all over the world people gear up to celebrate the matriarchs in their life.
A noble gesture indeed, however I sometimes wonder why women are only allocated one day, or one month, while men have 364 days?
Now now, I am not sexist, but being a women is no easy feat.
Ever tried donning heels, using intense heat to straighten bushy hair, or wear tight-fitting undergarments in an attempt to conceal all mummy’s cooking?
Or worse, plucking the hair from faces, waxing legs and nether regions and using hot expensive facial treatments that promise to make you look like a princess, but the end result is somewhere between Shrek and Godzilla?
What about layering on the make-up only to be told your father must be a builder cause you really know how to plaster foundation?
But women are resilient so we do all this with a smile just to look good.
While men slap on gel and have a quick bath (so quick judging from personal experience that you’d swear he only wet the sponge, his fringe and the towel and came out).
Then women have never-ending demands on their time, both those who are married, unmarried, single or even schooling. The demands remain the same, they only vary in degree depending on which finger you wear the ring on. Unmarried woman have to preen, clean and look lean apart from their other duties which is working, socialising, and talking.
Married women have to be, among other things, supermoms, doctors, best friends, shrinks, banks, lovers, maids, culinary experts, computer technicians, beauticians, models, employees and the list continues. Now doing this, in between talking, planning and life is quiet demanding. But because God made women with extra strength cement they are hard and manage the pressure. Even when they sick they rally on because their motto is, ‘never fear when panado is near’.
Now women are way more than what I have just described. Their roles, titles and responsibilities are never ending. So women and men should rally together to celebrate women every day. We could start a #bringbackwomendayeveryday campaign, this way women will truly be appreciated because after all there is no man without a wo-man.
So the next time you decide to make a continental breakfast on Women’s Day, rather offer to help peel veggies, especially onions, everyday. (they are monsters to peel, I swear eyeliner companies should invest in making some onion proof make-up or dark shades with windscreen wipers in side). Don’t buy roses. Rather tend to the gardening regularly (some women are also sadly burdened with garden duties at times).
By doing this we even out the odds and Women’s Day becomes a regular thing.
