Madam –

Following the armed attack on our farm on 19 September, where by the Grace of God our lives were spared, Norman and Anne Brown would like to thank the community of Newcastle for the compassion and support shown to us.

In particular we would like to convey our sincere gratitude and appreciation to the SAPS, fellow farmers, neighbours, concerned employees, Ithemba security, friends and community members who rallied in support and offered assistance to the family, following this traumatic experience.

This is greatly appreciated by us all.

We as farmers would like to encourage the farming community to take security more seriously to protect themselves and their property, as criminals have become more brazen and seem to think farmers are easy targets.

Norman and the dog Jessie are both recovering well from injuries sustained during the attack.
