Where did we go wrong?

Madam – It was with horror that I read in last week’s Newcastle Advertiser about the alleged rapists who were arrested after eight months.

What is happening to our community? A woman can obviously no longer walk alone without some pervert robbing and raping her.

I honestly don’t understand how any man can sexually assault a woman in any way, let alone taking turns to rape her.

Maybe it is just me, but I sometimes feel that we as a society have become hardened to such an extent that human compassion is becoming a thing of the past.

In fact, respect is non-existent. If there was still respect in the world, no man would not degrade a woman by raping her.

I would just like to know what kind of upbringing these men had. Was their childhood so sordid that the only way they could feel good about themselves was by humiliating and forcing themselves on a woman?

Would they even care if it happens to a member of their family?

Something needs to be done and soon, before our society degenerates even further.
