Sir
I would like to challenge you to a one-on-one debate in public, away from the clamour and chanting of supporters. Just the two of us on a public stage, with no supporters for either parties.
The reason for my request is that I am the white Afrikaner male which you threatened at your court appearance in Bloemfontein on November 14. You have also threatened my people on previous occasions.
Sir, as I followed the noises you have made at different venues over the last couple of years, it seems to me you have a problem with development, and that it is labelled by you as colonialism.
Sir, you wore a very nice suite, nice white shirt and shoes at your court appearance in Newcastle and Bloemfontein. You travelled by car to attend the court hearings. With all due respect sir, your car, your suit, your shoes, where do they come from? Do they come from Africa? Did they originate from Africa? No sir, they are consequences of colonialism.
The hotels, upmarket houses, houses for parliament representatives, all of it is inspired by colonialism. If you truly would like to protest against colonialism, I would suggest you remove from your life all the apparel and peripherals that are direct consequences of colonialism and make your next appearance in court, or parliament, wearing an ibheshu and travelling by foot, horse or donkey. The reason for such an extreme comment is that by your policy, it appears to me that your sole intent is to rid the country of colonialists and colonialism. This practise, if carried out in full, would take this country back 300 years in time. Your cell phone, computer, email and all other forms of electronic communication, are also things inspired by others.
Please sir, accept this challenge to an open debate that an opportunity may be created to enlighten you and all the rest of your followers, in a free and fair discussion on topics such as the history of this country and its people – all its people – including the whites.
I trust that you would consider this public challenge as the man you presume to be. Please do not endeavour to make me out or interpret me as a racist. I am merely a thinking, concerned member of the public who happens to be a realist.
