It’s time to do something about poor service delivery

We are a group of residents that have come up with a plan to get this town working or be managed by the province

This information is of concern to the Mayor, councillors and employees of Inkosi Langalibalele Local Municipality.

Nothing significant has happened in our town since the municipal elections in August 2016. Service delivery is non-existent.

Our town has gone from bad to worse. Municipal employees and councillors earned fat salaries for doing nothing. We are a group of residents that have come up with a plan to get this town working or be managed by the province.

We are aware of the millions mismanaged by the previous council and caution this council accordingly.

1. We want visible proof of the potholes being repaired. I am a pensioner and have damaged my car so many times.
2. We have engaged an attorney to lodge claims on behalf of residents for damage done to vehicles.
3. Refuse collection in town must be improved drastically. Full bags of litter have been lying near the rank area for weeks.
4. Illegal shebeens and taverns must be closed.
5. The lights at the Forderville Hall, town hall, Forderville pool and other municipal buildings must be switched off at night to save electricity.
6. All the leaking taps and cisterns at the municipal buildings must be repaired to save water.
7. Heads of departments must monitor the needs of our town and delegate work accordingly.
There is very little work ethic among the employees of our town.
8. Grass cutting… what grass cutting?

Councillors will soon be called to account to their communities.

We have embarked on a plan to stop paying our rates from the end of February. Details of the plan will be released to the public in due course. It’s time something is done.
