A tribute to the late Mr Ragoonath Ramwater

Mr Ramwater made significant contributions to the cultural and spiritual developments of the Hindu community

Mr Ragoonath Ramwater sadly passed away on January 6, 2017 at a ripe full age of 82-years. He leaves behind a legacy and memories that will be cherished forever.

He was an inspirational and influential individual. Mr Ramwater made significant contributions to the cultural and spiritual developments of the Hindu community. He embraced the cultural, religious and ethnic diversity that exists in the Estcourt community.

He displayed respect and tolerance towards all and in turn commanded the respect of others. Mr Ramwater promoted youth involvement in cultural, spiritual and sporting activities.

He strongly advocated that the youth are the future leaders and that they need to be empowered so that they won’t be tempted towards drug and substance abuse.

He was an avid and competitive golfer who also participated in soccer, table tennis and road running in his younger days.

He was the founder member of the Table Tennis Club in Estcourt, Estcourt Bhajan Group and various other spiritual groups.

He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
