Deteriorating road conditions in Estcourt

The disturbing thing about this is when these problems arise; they should be attended to immediately. Continual running water eventually leads to bigger problems

Travelling along Broomcliff Road, either from the cemetery or over the railway we are met with potholes and HUGE pools of water. These water leaks all around town are just getting worse.

The disturbing thing about this is when these problems arise; they should be attended to immediately. Continual running water eventually leads to bigger problems. It causes problems to buildings and roads.

The roads eventually start to crack, which leads to a broken surface and then to a huge pothole.

Just taking into account that the business in Broomcliff Road alone pays a huge rates fee. May I ask the management of this town, and I need honest answers, how and where are our rates used? Surely, you would plough it back into maintenance, upkeep and service delivery.

I do realise you have a massive staff that needs salaries, etc but we, the rate payers need to see our money being put into repairing Estcourt. Albert Street, Loskop Road, Connor Street, just a few of many more that really need to be resurfaced by qualified engineers. Please do not allocate contracts to those who know nothing about this skill. Don’t give a builder a doctor’s job; don’t give an engineer a cleaner’s job.

Intersections are very dangerous. Connor and Albert streets and Albert and Phillip streets, please repair the potholes. Town is hectic with so many motorists dodging potholes.

My offer still stands Jabu Mbele; I would be honoured to take you around Estcourt to show you our concerns. I will gladly assist you, one section at a time, and you get the staff and we clean Estcourt up, little at a time.

We all want Estcourt to be an attractive place that people would gladly return to. I thank you for ensuring that our street is kept clean. We just have to work on the water running down every day. I hope to hear from you very soon.
