‘Our town needs to be cleaned of anti-social activities’

Loud music with cars spinning causing not only air pollution but endangering lives of the innocent public

Sir
Recently while driving through town on a Saturday afternoon I couldn’t help but notice the disgraceful behaviour and absolute disregard for local laws by members of the public drinking openly on King Edward Street and at the same time there was another party on the corner of Anne and Boundary Roads.

Loud music with cars spinning causing not only air pollution but endangering lives of the innocent public.
On many occasions, I have seen domestic rubbish and garden refuse been dumped in any convenient spot regardless of where that might be or to whom it may inconvenience. In case you are not aware there is a law against such dumping.

Rats and cockroaches are attracted to such sites and spread of disease is highly likely.
Our parks – those that are not fenced off to the public – are breeding grounds for crime, teenage fornication, drug deals and more. Complaints are always met with the slogan ‘yes, it is their right to party?’ Really?
These dumps are set alight when they are full and the smoke causes not only pollution but restricts driver visibility as well.

Prostitution, drugs and abortion stickers all over the place are signs of a poorly run and maintained town.
Our Councillors need to come to the party, as it were, Everything in life needs maintenance, even the Edumeni council.

I strongly suggest that Councillors get together with the chief of police and start cleaning up the town.
