LETTER: Paterson Street, an avenue of sin

While I see these women as a social ill, contributing to the declining morals of the world, I also blame the men who use them.

Madam,

I was filled with a sense of disgust after reading about the total lack of disregard shown by prostitutes in Paterson Street.

How low can an individual stoop, that they are willing to use the storm water drains as toilets and a play park for their sexcapades?

With these women leaving condoms scattered across the park, who would allow their child to play there? This is unfair, as the community’s children are denied fun simply because these women and their clientele have no respect for others.

I am glad that I do not have to work in the street, as I can only imagine what the businesses in the area must go through, being forced to see filth building up outside their properties.

While I see these women as a social ill, contributing to the declining morals of the world, I also blame the men who use them.

Do these men not worry about the health risks linked to prostitutes? Have they no consideration for their spouses, girlfriends or families as a whole?

If it wasn’t for the men who paid for these women’s services, the prostitutes would not be an issue. There would be virtually no mess in Paterson Street, if men did not use these women.

I honestly think that society is losing its way in the grand scheme of things, with people giving into their carnal desires.

The question is when will the police start focusing on removing these women and penalising both their clients?

Sincerely,

Disgusted
