Estcourt Pan Africanist Congress pays tribute to young lions

The PAC takes Steve Biko as our heritage idol

The Pan Africanist Congress (PAC) in Estcourt would like to pay tribute to the late Steve Biko and Solomon Mahlangu. These young lions have fallen when we are still in great need of them.

These young, strong and dedicated lions were pushing for the struggle.

We can recall Steve Biko’s words when he said: “It’s better to die for the idea that will live forever that to live for an idea that will die.”

It clearly shows that this young lion was prophesying because his idea is still living and it is still relevant in our communities.
When the judge who handed down Solomon Mahlangu’s death sentence gave him a chance to say his last words, Mahlangu said: “his blood will irrigate the tree of freedom.”

These two late lions if they were around today would cry when they see how the youth of today has underestimated and insulted their input to the freedom that they fought for.

The youth these days are engaged in substance abuse, prostitution and have a lack of respect and humbleness. PAC takes Steve Biko as our heritage idol and we are saying is it not ‘uhuru’ yet if our generation stagnates and are bound by the curses.
