The best way to start off Women’s Month is to take care of yourself. Take a step back and see if you’ve been investing enough time for you. You might have been too preoccupied with work and other people that you’ve forgotten about yourself.

This month, reward yourself with something you’ll enjoy. Self-care means different things to different people.
The ultimate goal is to make yourself a priority.

Invest plenty of time, love, kindness, and care into improving the quality of your life. Self-care involves taking simple actions that positively affect your mind, body, and soul.

Many women do not have the time to think about themselves. We work hard to nurture others yet, we forget, that we must take care of ourselves in order to be in a healthy and happy state that empowers us to continue taking care of our loved ones.

Several important women in my life have developed illnesses due to their lack of self-care. Our days are extremely busy and we should create a self-care box.

Here are some ideas of what you can include: bubble bath, face mask, stress ball, tea bags or hot chocolate, scented candles, book of poems or anything that uplifts you and helps you relax or makes you happy.

Everyone has different needs for self-care, but overall, the goals of self-care is to discover a state of good mental and physical health, meet emotional needs, maintain one’s relationships, and to reduce stress. Let’s put our petty differences aside and help out one another. Whether it’s supporting a local brand or offering advice to a friend, show some love to the ladies in your life.

Yes, even the ones you might not get along with. It might be difficult but you can use this month as a stepping stone to better accept each other. There’s nothing better than showing some love to the women you admire.

You’re never too young to be a feminist or to take part in Women’s Month. If you have younger siblings, family members or children, let them know what this month is all about.
