Madam –
What a pleasure it is to drive along the Memel Road en route to Taxi City, and notice the complete lack of trash along the grass verge.
It appears that the little men in blue are diligently applying themselves to keeping our city cleaner.
Seeing that this is the entrance to Newcastle it is of prime importance to keep it tidy.
ALSO READ: Being aware of your surroundings
I still see the main culprits street littering as the people carriers, as they think not twice about turfing the accumulated rubbish, left by their passengers in their mini-bus taxis, out onto the kerb. Unfortunately, I do not buy into the mindset of ‘providing employment’ for others.
Just do not be a pig and expect that others must tidy up after you.
Have pride in your surroundings.
Set the example of being clean and tidy.
They say cleanliness is next to godliness, so let us set the example – there is enough garbage in the world so let us not add to it!
