LETTER: Will the Municipality be held accountable?

'The municipality can save so much more if they really do their job properly.'

It comes to no surprise that the municipality is bankrupt.

Now everybody scatters like mice to get answers on paper but it will not replace the money that is missing or mismanaged?

The Mayor promises that officials will be held accountable; my question is will it go so far?

Or is it just yet again another eye blind and to shut the people up?

If there is really a lack of individual performance management, appoint somebody who will improve it!

Why wait to investigate unauthorised, wasteful expenditures to grow and increase?

Who is actually responsible to investigate or authorise expenditures – let them be also be held accountable!

Just shows how comfortable the officials became in not caring about the finance of a company, for they receive their salary every month and maybe something below the table!

Let all those who handle finance be held responsible and investigated thoroughly and since it is the money of the public that is being abused, let the public know who these reckless officials are!

Why buy items at the place where the quote was cheaper; there are many other stores whose prices are even less.

But stationery is bought at expensive places and they are ridiculous with their prices.

Why not do some real shopping and buy stock from other stores?

The municipality can save so much more if they really do their job properly.

Even the employees who come late to work must be punished or action needs to be taken, for everybody has a contract that stipulates their starting time and ending time.

Start taking money off their salary when they are not in at the time when they are supposed to.

You will then quickly see how early employees will be at their posts!

Don’t just take from the employees who work in the big building but those working outside, for how many are sleeping in working time?

Public can assist in taking clear face pictures of employees and send them to the relevant department including to the Mayor, Municipal Manager and Newcastle Advertiser.

If the municipality is so transparent, they will let these lazy employees be held accountable for stealing money.

Wonder what will happen to those employees who actually do their job?
