Sir
Something needs to be done in Dannhauser before more lives are lost. A woman was knocked over by a speeding vehicle in a hit and run on Sunday night. When work began on the main road in town, the contractors removed all the speed bumps on the main street.
These were never put back once the road was completed.
This has given errant drivers the perfect chance to speed through the town. On weekends you can hear them spinning their tyres near the school or speeding through the town as if they were in a drag race.
To add to the dangerous conditions, the street lights past the bakery have not been working for a while, leaving the bottom half of the town shrouded in darkness at night.
It’s in this area where the woman was knocked over. As ratepayers, we urge the council to please ensure there is proper street lighting around the town and please put back the speedbumps, before more lives are lost.
