Shop till you drop and get stampeded on
Aunty Saras was also disappointed that there weren't enough specials on curry leaves and masala, things she really wanted to buy

Black Friday has come and gone once again, leaving behind many bruised bodies and even more bruised bank accounts.
Once again shoppers pushed their way into stores as the doors opened, eager to get to the many deals first.
Many even walked over others who had fallen to the ground, such was their desire for deals, that human life didn’t deter them.
Everyone’s favourite uncle, Uncle Bobby, wasn’t one of the shoppers crowding malls around the country. Instead, Uncle Bobby opted to stay at home and avoid any injury to himself or others. “What’s all this Black Friday fuss?
“So much people pushing and shouting and fighting.”
“I get enough of that at home when I come home a little late from the tavern,” Uncle Bobby was quoted as saying.
Uncle Bobby, like many others, opted not to get run over while attempting to get into a store.
This was the case at many Game Stores, which opened at midnight on Black Friday. “These fella’s don’t know me nicely. I’ll finish them and leave them if they push me into a shop.”
Aunty Saras, who knows all about her husband’s threats, wasn’t as convinced.
“What he knows how to finish?
“He can’t even finish cleaning the garage, no matter how many times I ask him.”
Aunty Saras was also disappointed that there weren’t enough specials on curry leaves and masala, things she really wanted to buy. “We don’t need to buy fancy TV’s and all these technology things. I can still watch Glow on my old TV.”
She was also less than sympathetic for people who were hurt in the mad rush that was Black Friday.
“Nice like that. Who told them to go run and shop at midnight.
“They supposed to be in bed that time.”
“They don’t know that the spooks come out that time or what?”
While Uncle Bobby and Aunty Saras may have avoided the mad rush, many couldn’t resist the temptation. Much like the running of the bulls in Spain, there was chaos and confusion, but those who managed to walk away with deals would say it was worth it. Only one person wasn’t as chuffed and that was Kista Uncle, who sadly waited all night for Tops Bottle Store to open, only to find out that there was no buy one, get one free special on his favourite dop.
