Ward 10 residents are waiting with bated breath for the official opening of the Estradini Lifestyle Centre situated in the upper Colita, alongside the R103. We are reliably informed the centre will open December 8.

On two occasions previously, music blared non-stop from 6pm to 6am from the centre. As a community, we wish to inform the owners of the centre, we will not tolerate the loud music blaring the whole night, making sleep impossible for our children, sickly and aged parents. We are in contact with the Public Protector, the Human Rights Commission, South African Revenue Service, Liquor Board, Transport Department regarding the illegal road and the Ingonyama Land Trust regarding the legality of the centre.
The matter will be pursued more aggressively once the centre is officially opened. Apparently, the owner of the night club is a council employee.
God help us in our attempts to rid this town of people who wish to further contribute to the moral decay of our people. We will fight to the end.

As the owner of Estradini Lifestyle Lounge, I would like to humbly apologise to the Ward 10 residents that were affected by the previous two events mentioned in the complaint. I was not aware until now of their feelings towards the opening of my establishment and going forward, I will make sure to take their issues regarding noise into better consideration.
However, I would like to explain to the complainant what the establishment is about so as to give a better/ clearer perspective to the Ward 10 residents who seem to have a negative assumption of what our business is about.
Firstly, Estradini Lifestyle Lounge is a restaurant and events hosting business that caters to all who wish to host an occasion.
Secondly, our events will not be running on a daily basis, therefore noise will not be an everyday occasion.
Third, this establishment is an actual business, which means it is adding to the local employment, as the business model thrives on collaborations with other small local businesses and aims to give back to the community through a multitude of projects, specifically aligned with the local youth.
Fourth, the Ward 10 residents have been aware of the construction of the establishment and its business activities for an entire year but decided to wait till it was complete and about to launch in a week in order for then to finally put out a complaint, which leads me to suspect the actual complainant’s motive behind their complaint.
Fifth, the establishment has strict age restriction rules, unless the event is for a younger audience, then alcohol is obviously not served.
Also running an establishment that serves alcohol is not a crime in South Africa and our government is not run by any religious institution that will dictate on what business is moral or not, so long as we abide by the law and no crime is committed and so far, I have committed none.
Sixth, Estradini Lifestyle Lounge is a legal business and does have all its paperwork, along with its liquor licence.
As the complainant has unnecessarily brought the validity and legality of my business into question, he/she is welcome to set up a meeting with me to view it if it pleases them.
Estradini Lifestyle Lounge has no bearing with me being employed by the municipality. The business is fully declared with my employer and there is no conflict of interest.
Residents must first deal with the illegal shebeens in the area and accept that we are co-existing, the area is situated in Ward 18 and not Ward 10.
As the owner, I am willing to have a meeting with the Ward 10 residents for an open and respectful discussion/negotiation on how we can best co-exist in the community in a way that is mutually beneficial in the future.

Owner of Estradini Lifestyle Lounge
