LETTER: Mandla’s heroic deed has reader in tears

He could easily have just driven past and carried on with his day, but he chose to stop and help. He didn’t ask for fame or fortune - all he wanted was to save some of God’s own creatures.

Madam –
Too many people choose to ignore the sight of abandoned animals.

That’s why I read the story of how Mandla Mlotshwa saved a litter of puppies and their mother with tears in my eyes.
Mandla is truly a modern day hero.

He could easily have just driven past and carried on with his day, but he chose to stop and help. He didn’t ask for fame or fortune – all he wanted was to save some of God’s own creatures.

For Mandla to have made such a connection with the mother and her pups in that short space of time was nothing short of miraculous, and I was so glad this story had a happy ending when Mandla was able to reconnect and reunite with his new ‘family’ at the SPCA.

I am also glad the SPCA is taking care of the pups and their mother – they have a great chance of getting adopted and finding loving homes despite their rough start in life.

Mandla was truly their guardian angel that day. He will be blessed one thousand times over for his selfless love and kindness.
