Good day to all the stakeholders of our ‘wonderful’ municipality
I must really ‘congratulate’ you all on such a “superb” Christmas Night Market, held in our very own ‘clean’ town.
WOW! What a welcome our guests and residents had to this event. Walking up or down to the market, we were warmly welcomed by the lush radiance of an ever growing rubbish dump. Also the sweet aromatic scent of the underlying sewage smell from the corner across the road from FNB, just a little down from Capitec Bank.

But let us not mention the disgusting stench of urine flowing from our pavements, after the drinkers have relieved themselves and tossed down their bottles for someone else to pick up (job creation, I believe it to be), but the bottles are just left there because Extended Public Works Program (EPWP) do not pick up bottles, so they told me. We have an alcohol problem in this town.
Age doesn’t seem to matter at all to the outlets as well as to law enforcement. As long as they are selling, who cares what happens to the public? The drunkards become unruly, disrespectful, and immoral by just pulling out their penis and urinating and impregnating. Adults, you don’t seem to care about this youth, YOUR FUTURE LEADERS.
Now do you rate this market as a huge success or a total balls up? Would you have attended this very poor market?
Just rate this town!
You would have had the whole street lined with stalls, as was the first markets held in Harding Street, if your attitudes were better towards this town and the people who would have liked to put up a stall.
But who in the hell wants to put up a table on a rubbish dump and bring and sell food or anything else with this vile stench around them?

You had law enforcement in full force, to keep out the drunkards and the criminals, I thank you for that.
You have the Christmas decorations on the street poles. Just underneath the decorations lay refuse galore.
Could you not have organised a team to clean up the town continuously to at least make it welcoming?
I am gathering your answer is a huge NO because you don’t care for this town. All you care about is lining your pockets with our rates and taxes. That is all we are good for; we are enriching your greedy nature.
I trust and hope your attitudes towards us will change soon.

People of this town, you need to seriously consider where you will put your ‘X’ next May. This management has hopelessly failed us all. You have the power to make a difference and it all lies with you only. Wake up and just take note of the state of this town. Has is EVER been as bad as it is today. Refuse collected weekly and on your day?

Street lights all working? Roads, gutters, pavements clean and safe? Motorists skipping red traffic lights? Trees and grass cut? Sewage and fresh water flowing? Pipes in the ‘repair’ state that is forgotten about?
And that is just touching the surface. ‘X’ will change matters.
