Well hello to all Estcourtonians/Umthezi’ens
So many letters of complaints for poor or non-existent services have been written by the community over the past few years, that I feel as I’ll just be echoing the same old problems.

I own a small business and let’s be very honest; this town would not exist if it weren’t for the businesses, no matter how small. We provide employment, training and pass on years of knowledge and experience to our unskilled community members, so as to offer them a future; hopefully an honest one.
Our municipal managers are perhaps trying to get the job done, but I’m afraid to say are failing miserably. Just look at our roads…what roads? Our water supply? Forever failing…
Try four days with no water in a business with 15 staff members…the smell becomes unbearable, not to mention the unhealthy and disease riddled ablutions especially in a 40 degree shade temperature.
Some of us, as business owners, actually do pay for these so called services. Refuse removal…non- existent. For over a month no refuse has been collected from our premises…

But guess what? We pay nevertheless with the hope that sooner or later the services will resume. Driving through Loskop the other day, I couldn’t help but notice how clean and tidy the area actually was…
Take a good look at our area in the central business district (CBD) …I’ll say no more. How you choose to describe it, I’ll leave entirely up to you. I could carry on and on…
It’s the sign of the times…fancy cars, huge salaries, positions of power with little or no responsibility and no one to answer to when things go totally pear-shaped.
But fear not faithful residents of Estcourt\Umtshezi, things will NOT be getting any better any time soon. Things are going to get a lot worse. NE registration should be changing shortly to NMR… NO MORE ROADS.
The CBD will soon become the main rubbish dump…it’s almost there…public toilets are no longer required as a number one or number two is now done on the side of the road, or against the shop wall…
Most of the small businesses will soon close down due to on-going break-ins and unemployment will rocket and with that the crime rate. This town will degrade to such an extent that it will become uninhabitable, even to the most uneducated human.

Garbage filled dirt roads with sewer rats thriving off what’s left of the Gem of the Midlands will be the end result. Race, colour and religion have nothing to do with poor, bad or non- existing management. The chosen elite that run this town either don’t have a clue or don’t give a damn.
I’m not Nostradamus, but you don’t need to be, if you live in this run down little town where the infrastructure and service maintenance is so far gone that there is no coming back.
To all our municipal managers…You are the managers of a dirty, run down town and from your past and current actions, you seem to be very happy with living in these conditions…speaks volumes of your character.
To our councillors; you council really badly… just look at our town. Oops I’m so sorry, councillors are politically driven… you don’t care about the town. To our Honourable Mayor…what are you actually the mayor of?
