The time has come to choose wisely

Look at the state of Estcourt, where is service delivery?

As we are approaching the general elections, I want to appeal to the citizens of this country, especially the youth as a whole, to please take the best decision to elect a party that will take South Africa forward and create better future for all of us.

Look at the state of Estcourt, where is service delivery?

Waste is not collected, no proper communication with rate payers, go to Wembezi – all roads have potholes. Check the Wembezi Taxi Rank, it is not completed and it’s wasteful expenditure.
The Wembezi Library was supposed to be fenced with palisade like in town and the Wembezi Multipurpose Centre was supposed to be paved outside.
Check the Wembezi Stadium, not completed, Wembezi A rectification is a disgrace, the quality of the houses is very poor, electricity bill is too high, where is the tertiary registration assistance? Last year the African National Congress Youth League (ANCYL) in Estcourt organised a march against our municipality and at last minute they cancelled the march, are you aware of this? It’s simply because they will show the world that they voted incompetent, lack of leadership people to lead us.

The ANC has also appointed an incompetent municipal manager and staff in key positions – evidence being their own Cllr Ndumo who is always complaining in council meetings about staff members that do not attend committee meetings and if the committee needs reports from them; they run away. He even asked where they hide these reports, so he can go fetch them himself.

The ruling party has made a lot of blunders, which led to all this. Youth of our town, please open your eyes, the time is running out. I am very worried about our future because of this ruling party. It remembers you during elections, gives us T-shirts and food parcels but at the end of the day, we need a bright future and service delivery.

Where is the back to school program in our municipality? The Department of Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs MEC placed Uthukela district and Inkosi Langalibalele Municipality under administration due to unauthorised expenditure growing to R42.1 million and fruitless and wasteful expenditure increasing to R31.6 million. R220 million drought relief is missing in KwaZulu-Natal, that is why in Uthukela, we have been experiencing community protests against water interruptions.
