This year Lent is themed: ‘A call for a sacred assembly,’ (Joel: 2).

During Lent, we call on Christians to gather together in sacred assemblies. At St Matthew’s Anglican Church on the corner of Lorne and Connor streets, we meet daily at 5.30pm for service during this time.

The purpose of fasting and these sacred assembly gatherings is to prepare God’s spirit, specifically in the Estcourt and surrounding areas.

I encourage you to read over Joel: 2 during the Lent season as we near Easter. Gods’ purpose is to dwell amongst his people by his spirit.

He wants his spirit to be with his people. Let Lent 2019 be a celebration and a hosting of God’s spirit upon all flesh; believers and non-believers alike.
