Letter to the editor: Focus on paying back ratepayers

Now that he is discovered, he must pay back the monies he had been legitimately paid for his illegitimate but accident-free flying.

Madam –

Strange how an incident will trigger a thought process which connects to a totally unrelated subject.

The only common denominator being money. Take this uncertified airline pilot flying aeroplanes safely for years.

Now that he is discovered, he must pay back the monies he had been legitimately paid for his illegitimate but accident-free flying.

He was wrong in what he did, but did no harm to a soul. Let our legal counsellors rather go after the appointed officials of this country, who have helped themselves to vast amounts of money illegally.

Money that would have been for the general benefit of the population of South Africa. Why are they not being hounded to pay back the money, and if necessary jailed? The bogus pilot did no harm to any of the passengers he ferried.

Leave him be and concentrate on the genuine thieves who have stolen from the South African coffers and therefore the tax payer.
