Councillor warns of suspected Ponzi scheme in Bergville

My advice to all people of uThukela is: Let us not invest a single cent in these Ponzi schemes

Editor –

Dear uThukela residents, I would like to inform you that there is another Ponzi scheme operating in Bergville, next to Spar, promising to pay 100 per cent interest within eight days.

I did check on the Companies & Intellectual Property Registration Office (CIPRO) whether or not it is registered, but I couldn’t find anything related to the company name; it is nowhere to be found.

People need to understand that it is our responsibility as a community to work closely with the police in order to root out this kind of crime, as far as I’m concerned. Many people are left out of pocket due to Ponzi schemes, so let’s be careful.

My advice to all people of uThukela is: Let us not invest a single cent in these Ponzi schemes.

Michael Buthelezi (Democratic Alliance councillor – Okhahlamba Local Municipality)
