Loca karateka get global training

JKA karateka from Northern KwaZulu-Natal have gained understanding of this, having recently trained in Johannesburg with international liaison of JKA, Sensei Okuma.
This high quality session focused on the finer aspects of karate.
An impressive number of karateka from across the country packed out the Wanderers training grounds, where valuable lessons were imparted by Sensei Okuma.
These will be applied by JKA NKZN as part of maintaining high standards in the dojo and in general.
In addition, JKA NKZN now boasts 12 dojos from Pongola across the province to Hluhluwe, with Newcastle established as the largest with a total membership of 85 karateka.
Organisers of the local dojo also mentioned why JKA has achieved such success.
They state it is the result of the balance between competing at tournament level, while retaining traditional elements and teaching effective self-defence techniques.
This, they add, makes JKA relevant and ever popular.
