Speedsters battle for top positions

At Saturday's race meeting, the new Model V8 class was introduced.

Results from Saturday’s Oval Track action are as follows:

1600s

JP Bruin finished in pole position, ahead of Johann de Jager and Jannie Williams.

Rookies

Tiaan Buys was top of the class.

Hot Rods

Crossing the line first was Hendrik van der Merwe, with Roux van der Colff and Gideon Hand rounding off the top three.

2 Litres

Again, Hendrik van der Merwe topped the chart, ahead of Imraan Ameer and Pieter Bester.

1660s

Liefie Bester completed the race in first place, while Deon van der Merwe and Corrie van den Bergh finished in second and third place respectively.

Late Model V8s

In the new division, Panna Greyling and Ronnie Greyling were one and two overall.

Organisers at the Newcastle Oval Raceway thank all spectators, assistants and racers for their support on the day, and inform enthusiasts of the race to take place on April 26.
