Another golf Monthly Mug for Billy’s collection
Congratulations to the three of our local lady golfers, Lorien De Wit, Debbie Catlett and Ronel Purchase for being part of the victorious Northern Region Ladies league team who comfortably beat Durban Region Ladies on Sunday at Royal Durban Golf Club.

A disappointing 22 players arrived on Saturday at the Dundee Country Club to compete in the August Monthly Mug Medal competition.
In the Men’s A division, Billy Francis finished on a net 67 to beat Jo Khumalo by two shots to add another Mug to his collection. Shepard Nzenza also finished on a net 67 in the Men’s B division, three shots ahead of Danny Scholtz to win the B division Mug.
The prize for the best gross score for the competition also went to Billy Francis after shooting a two over par 73. Only two players managed to record a 2 Club on the day, and they were Billy Francis and Kallie Roets.
Billy Francis, Shepard Nzenza and Wynand Ackerman were all able to record eleven points on the allocated Jackpot holes to earn themselves a little extra cash.

The club has three golf days lined up for this week, Wednesday, August 9, the club celebrated Women’s Day by hosting the Oom Okies se Bokkies fun day and players wore pink to as a fundraiser for the Ladies Inter-Club.
Friday, August 11, the D.C.C. Coal Mining Golf Day will be held and there are still a few places available at a cost of R1 400 per team of four players. There will be a shotgun start at 1pm. Interested parties can contact Helen on 082 451 3719 for more information.
On Saturday, August 12, the club will host the annual Doctors Golf Day, an I.P.S. competition with great prizes on offer. Entrance fee is R160 pp. Players are requested to contact The Pro Shop on 034 218 1000 to make their booking.
