Angling competition boasts the big bucks

Every hour for eight hours, skins will be called and the angler with the best haul for that hour will receive a R1 000 prize.

Newcastle Chelmsford Angling Club is hosting its Grand Open Skins Competition on November 5, with thousands of Rand up for grabs.

Competition runs from 7am to 3pm at Sandford, Chelmsford/ Ntshingwayo Dam.

Anglers who bag the heaviest scaled and non-scaled fish will receive R1 000 apiece, in addition to prizes for runners-up and lucky draw winners.

The main attraction will be the skins competition.

Tickets cost R100 per angler, excluding gate fees, and are available at Papillon Liquor Store or the main gate on the day.
