Phoenix leads the way in Spur Super Saturday League

Phoenix and Old Boys played against each other in the first match of the season on Tuesday, October 3.
Old Boys scored 151 runs for the loss of three wickets, in 20 overs, thanks to Henri Linde and Andrew Charters who took command of the innings with their batting skills.
However, Phoenix not to be outdone, rose to the challenge and chased the score with steady determination.
Mohammed Moola, Riaan Kritzinger and Quentin Ferreira led Phoenix to victory with a score of 154 runs for the loss of four wickets, in 19.2 overs.

In the Asians versus Underdogs match on Wednesday, October 4, Asians managed to score126 runs for seven wickets, in 25 overs.
Underdogs, however, faced a difficult start, having scored only 18 runs for the loss of five wickets, within minutes of the start of their innings.
However, Joshua Govender and Tishen Narothum refused to contemplate defeat. With a spectacular performance, they led Underdogs to victory, having scored 170 runs, all out, in 23.3 overs.
On October 7, the Spur Super Saturday League began with Old Boys and Phoenix facing off against each other for the second time in a week.
Phoenix batted first and ran up 215 runs for seven wickets, in 30 overs, with both Siganda Shezi and Ruwayne Chetty making half centuries.
Old Boys only managed to score 183 runs, all out, in 29.4 overs. This included 83 runs from Ruan Wessels and 37 runs from Andrew Charters.
The Spur Super Saturday League continued on Saturday, October 14.
During the A Division, Phoenix took on Asians at Arbor Park Sports Grounds.
Asians batted first and scored 163 runs in 29 overs, before Phoenix chased the target down by scoring 164 runs in 28.5 overs.
Old Boys then played against Paradise, at the Paradise Sports Grounds.
Old Boys ran-up 216 runs during its innings, before restricting Paradise to 173 runs.
In the B division, Underdogs delivered an impressive game of cricket during its match against Warriors.
Warriors scored 129 runs, all out in 25 overs, while Underdogs ran-up 134 runs for two wickets in 16.2 overs.
Eagles played against Highlands at Ferrum High School.
Eagles scored 265 runs for four wickets, in 25 overs, securing a strong lead.
Highlands obtained 148 runs for eight wickets, in 18 overs.
However, this was an adjusted score where Highlands received 84 runs, as the Eagles did not finish its overs in time.
During the Ithemba Security Night League, Bengal Tigers defeated Warriors by 58 runs.
SAPS beat Lennoxton by 146 runs, while Highlands beat ArcelorMittal by 138 runs.
