Angling competition: Avid anglers to bring home the big bucks

The anglers who bag the heaviest scaled and non-scaled fish will receive R1 000 apiece, while the runners-up also receive prizes.

Newcastle Chelmsford Angling Club is hosting its Grand Open Skins Competition on November 5, with thousands of Rand up for grabs.

Competition runs from 7am to 3pm at the Chelmsford/ Ntshingwayo Dam.

The anglers who bag the heaviest scaled and non-scaled fish will receive R1 000 apiece, while the runners-up also receive prizes.

The main attraction will be the skins competition.

Every hour for eight hours, skins will be called and the angler with the best hourly haul will receive a R1 000 prize for their catch.

Tickets cost R100 per angler, excluding gate fees, and are available at Papillon Liquor Store or the main gate on the day.
