Participating clubs included the Newcastle Highlanders (men and women), Bears (men and women), Flying Eagles (men), and Utrecht (men).

Each men’s team played two matches, while the women’s sides contested one.

The packed stadium was treated to thrilling rugby throughout the day.

The Bears opened with a 20–12 win over the Flying Eagles, while Highlanders powered to a 70–12 victory against Utrecht.

In the women’s clash, the Highlanders overran the Bears 62–12.

In the plate final, Utrecht edged the Flying Eagles 17–12. The cup final proved one-sided as the Highlanders crushed the Bears 106–0.

NKZN Rugby Sub-Union vice president, Andre Swanepoel, thanked DSAC for its support of rugby in the Amajuba District.

The tournament is now set to become an annual fixture, with organisers confident it will grow bigger and better each year.
