Two games of 12 ends each were played in the morning and a third game of 14 ends was played in the afternoon. Old friendships were renewed and new ones made over morning tea and lunch
Despite a chilly start, 22 teams from Wartburg, Bergville, Estcourt, Howick and Pietermaritzburg joined local bowlers for the annual Spar Mixed Fours Bowls Tournament at the Mooi River Country Club on Sunday, June 8.
As the temperature warmed so did the enthusiasm of the participants.
Amid a lot of light hearted banter, teams competed in three games.
