Go Girls achieve highest bowling honours
Saturday's sponsored day by Peter and Pat MacCallum proved to be full of fun and was well attended

Congratulations to the ‘Go Girls’ who achieved the highest bowls honours in winning the Open District Ladies’ Fours in Piet Retief last weekend. Skipped by Barbara Baleri, the team of Irene Ross, Liz Robinson and Charmaine van der Merwe played outstanding bowls throughout the championships to gain victory over the Northerns, Midlands and Zululand teams. You showed great determination and took no prisoners – well done!
Saturday’s sponsored day by Peter and Pat MacCallum proved to be full of fun and was well attended. They must be thanked for their efforts in this regard. The winners were Vijay Singh, Melissa and Raymond Streatfield. Numerous other prizes were on offer, plus the lovely soup and rolls – this is much appreciated.
This Saturday morning sees the coming together of all the clubs to attend the Midlands AGM. We trust this will be a successful and fruitful meeting.
In the afternoon, starting at 1.30pm, it will be the start of the Club Men’s and Ladies’ Pairs Championships and we wish all participants good bowling.
Thursday sees Barbara Baleri travelling to Pietermaritzburg to attend a Bowls South Africa camp, where the participants have been invited by the national selectors to come along and prove their talents. We wish Barbara a safe journey and success in her efforts.
