22 children from Vryheid Swimming Club competed in the championships.

The following children received medals: Dirk Grobler (11) two silver; Ashley Reimers (17) six gold, one silver and one bronze; Jaco Smutt (16) five gold; Carla Combrink (16) two gold, one silver and one bronze; Timon Von Benecke (17) one silver and one bronze; Mia Van Deventer (9) one gold and one silver; Bernè Van Heerden (12) one silver and Dylan Wessels (16) one gold and one silver. The relay team received one silver and three bronze medals. Overall, the children did very well.

A big thank you to all the sponsors and to Past van Deventer and his team, as well as Andre Rheder and his team for cooking up a storm and feeding all who attended. The Vryheid Swimming Club Committee went above and beyond to make the gala a reality for the children, and are well deserving of much gratitude in this regard.

Last, but certainly not least, many thanks to Coach Pierre van Wyk. His love for the children and time spent assisting and training them with their swimming is much appreciated and does not go unnoticed.
