Winner of the A Division thus becoming the champion golfer of the year was our Club President Wilfie Laatz with a gross score of 156

This last Saturday and Sunday, May 23 and 24 respectively, the Estcourt Golf Club Championships, generously sponsored by Mortimer Toyota Motors, was played over 36 holes. A good field of players participated in three divisions over the two days.

Winner of the A Division thus becoming the champion golfer of the year was our Club President Wilfie Laatz with a gross score of 156. Second on a gross 157 was Philani Mabaso with Adrian Brown third and Henry Honiball fourth on 160 and 162 resp.

The B Division winner was Phiwe Mabaso on 159 followed in second place by Gordon Smith on 166. Rajen Goodoon on 167 and Lional Laatz on 169 were in third and fourth place respectively.

The C Division winner was Harry Koovarjee on 182 with Ruben Meades in second place on 188. A 190 count out placed Darryn Wortmann and Arnold Boettiger in third and fourth place respectively.

The winning lady was Gail Boettiger on 178 followed by Pippa Brown on 183 and Gina Hamman on 218. Winner of the best nett was Philani Mabaso on 139 with second place going to Harry Koovarjee on 140. A 142 count out placed Gordon Smith in third spot and Wilfie Laatz fourth.

A big thank you to Edu Rohrs and team of Estcourt Mortimer Toyota for once again sponsoring this important annual tournament. Winner of the ind. stab. comp. played on Wednesday, May 20 was Harry and Deejay Ramdhav was the Friday winner of the 9 hole comp with 22 points. Today, Wednesday, May 27, and Saturday, May 30 will be BBBS comps. unless otherwise specified closer to the time.
