Vryheid Athletics Club – Flying the VAC flag high at Assegaai 2016

Dit was ‘n warm oggend en ons is soos een man by die bymekaarkom plek weg.

Dit was ‘n warm oggend en ons is soos een man by die bymekaarkom plek weg.

She is a lady that always does well and she won the veteran category with a time of 2:25 on the 21km. The team prize went to VAC for Amanda 1:51, Monique 1:53 and Marlene 1:54. The first three ladies that finished for the club. Amanda, you did us proud again to have won the fourth prize in the open category as well. Johan, surprise, surprise. You didn’t think you won a prize did you? Congratulations on your win as well. Despite it being so hot, Paula worked very hard on the 42.2km race and came to the finish still very strong. Well done, Paula. Nhlanhla Ncube came fifth in the 10km with a good time of 35 minutes. Bongani Msimango came third in the 42km with a time of 2:39.

It is great to have all the club members cheering and carrying every VAC member to the winning line.

We invite all runners, walkers or even beginners to come and join us. The best time to start is now. We meet every Thursday at the club house 5:30pm sharp and then have a braai afterward. Everyone is welcome.
