Dundee team on target at Macnollie Challenge

The event being a prestigious one, only corporate team winners and second place winners were eligible for the Clarens Macnollie trophy and Macnollie shield respectively.

The Dundee team, sponsored by Farmers Agri Care, performed admirably in last year’s MacNollie Challenge held in the scenic Clarens area of the Eastern Free State.
Based on the famous Royal MacNab challenge in Lady Grey, participants compete against each other as corporate teams in three disciplines: shooting an impala target on a shooting range (best grouping), trout fishing (catch and release) and shooting clay pigeons.
All three disciplines are still to be completed in 12 hours. It was husband and wife, Chris and Sonja de Jager, Schalk Meintjies (junior) and Rupert Hellberg who kept Dundee’s flag flying: winning both the target shooting and clay pigeon shooting individual events.
Their team was kindly sponsored by Dundee businessman, Brian du Toit, of Farmers Agri Care.
It was PSG Team of Bethlehem who were declared the overall winners.
The event being a prestigious one, only corporate team winners and second place winners were eligible for the Clarens Macnollie trophy and Macnollie shield respectively.
