Newcastle Bowling Club hosted its Club Drawn Fours competition last Saturday afternoon.
Eight women entered the competition, resulting in the game between the two teams of four being a final.
The teams were very evenly matched, and the final score of 24-22 is indicative of the exciting tussle which ensued.
The winning team was that of Samantha Shaw, Marie Botha, Vicky van der Merwe and Elena Roux, and the runners-up were Dorothy Crosbie, Michelle Steele, Lindsay McArthur and Edith Pretorius.
The annual Quadrangular Provincial tournament between the four KwaZulu-Natal bowling provinces is being held in Margate this weekend, as a warm-up to the Inter-Provincial
tournaments which will be held in April, with all 20 bowling districts participating.
Newcastle Bowling Club will be well-represented, with a number of its members included in the representative sides – good bowling, all!
