Dundee swimmers take on the Chelmsford Challenge
There was one swimmer that competed in the 3km race - Stephen Ferreira was 19th overall and 10th in his age group with a time of 1:00:03.
The Dundee Aquatics swimmers showed their steel during the Chelmsford Challenge on February 28. Once again the club’s name was held high in style. The competitive swimmers did amazing in the 1km race.
Well done to the three girls: Cameron Meintjies was 12th overall and 5th in her age group with a time of 17:52, Hayley Wentzel was 54th overall and 4th in her age group with a time of 24:27 and Robyn Murdey was 55th overall and 5th in her age group with a time of 24:30. The other female swimmers that also represented Dundee Aquatics swim club was Gabby Carter was 27th overall and 8th in her age group with a time of 19:24. Nadia Raffenberg was 37th overall and 4th in her age group with a time of 21:26. Robin van Heerden was 51st overall and 14th in her age group with a time of 24:08. Rachel Steenkamp was 68th overall and 15th in her age group with a time of 26:21. Emily Honiball was 71st overall and 20th in her age group with a time of 26:40.
Even the moms were represented by Lee van Heerden who was 52nd overall and 6th in her age group with a time of 24:10.
Robin van Heerden was 51st overall and 14th in her age group with a time of 24:08. Rachel Steenkamp was 68th overall and 15th in her age group with a time of 26:21. Emily Honiball was 71st overall and 20th in her age group with a time of 26:40.
The male swimmers in the 1km race that represented Dundee Aquatics were: Eric Lauwrens who was 30th overall and 2nd in his age group with a time of 20:26, Aiden Carter was 35th overall and 6th in his age group with a time of 21:03.
